Spring in Cleveland is something special. The air starts to warm, the trees begin to bloom, and everything feels just a little bit lighter. It’s the season of new beginnings, and honestly, the perfect time to press pause and capture your family just as they are.
This April, I’ll be offering limited spring family photo mini sessions. They are quick, joy-filled portraits designed for busy families who want beautiful, timeless images without the overwhelm of a full session. Whether we’re outdoors under the cherry blossoms or cozy in the studio, these sessions are meant to feel easy, natural, and fun.

Mini sessions are short, sweet, and surprisingly powerful. In just 15 to 20 minutes, we can capture real connection, laughter, and the tiny in-between moments that define your family’s personality. For busy parents, they’re a dream! With no overthinking, no overwhelm, and just enough time to capture those real, connected moments. They are especially a favorite for families with young kids with short attention spans.
In fact, spring mini sessions for busy families have become one of my most requested offerings each year. They’re ideal for milestone updates, Mother’s Day gifts, or simply documenting the sweet chaos of life as it is right now.

There’s a narrow little window in Cleveland where spring truly shines, and that’s April. It’s when trees begin to blossom, the sun starts to stay out longer, and the landscape is filled with soft color and golden light.
It’s also one of the best times to photograph families outdoors. The weather is mild, kids aren’t too hot or cold, and it’s early enough in the year that schedules haven’t been overtaken by summer camps, vacations, and sports.

Mini Sessions can be done both in the studio or outdoors. More than anything, it depends on the weather. For example, I prefer to do Christmas minis in the studio for comfort and convenience. While Spring minis are fun to do among the many new blooms of the season. However, every year is a little different in what I am offering for mini sessions, so be sure to check the location with me before booking.

Choosing outfits for Spring family photos doesn’t have to be stressful. For spring, soft tones always photograph beautifully. Think light neutrals, pastels, and gentle earth tones. Coordinating is great, but matching isn’t necessary. Textures like cotton, linen, or knits add visual interest without being distracting.
And most importantly, wear something you feel good in! When you’re comfortable and relaxed, that energy shines through in every image. If you’re unsure, I’m always happy to offer styling suggestions or inspiration to help pull everything together.

As a mom and Cleveland family photographer, I know that getting everyone out the door is a win on its own. That’s why these sessions are short and sweet, and why I handle everything! You don’t need to coach your kids or plan every detail. I’ll guide you with gentle prompts, play a few games, and create space for real smiles and connection.
Even if someone’s wiggly or shy (which, let’s be honest, is totally normal), we’ll roll with it! And the photos will still be beautiful, I promise. The most important part of my job is capturing the essence of your family in this phase of life. So we will keep it easy-going, light-hearted and fun for everyone!

Like I said above, I handle everything! So you won’t have to worry about posing your kids or entertaining them. I’ll guide you with gentle, natural prompts that bring out authentic connection.

These moments, filled with movement, laughter, and real emotion, are what turn a 15-minute session into lasting memories.

A mini session is a shorter, simplified photo shoot. Perfect for quick seasonal updates or milestone moments.
How long does it last?
Each session lasts about 15–20 minutes. Just the right amount of time to get a variety of shots without wearing anyone out.
What if my kids don’t cooperate?
Totally normal, and totally fine! I work quickly and gently, with games and prompts that help bring out natural smiles (even from shy little ones).

Due to time constraints, I recommend sticking to one outfit. However, I’ll help you pick the perfect look before your session.

For outdoor sessions, we’ll reschedule if the weather isn’t cooperating. Or you can switch to a cozy indoor studio setup if you prefer.
